Corpus Christi Mass & Procession
This year the feast of Corpus Christi will fall on Thursday, June 19. Let us honour Our Lord by making a beautiful traditional procession of the Blessed Sacrament around the block at the 7pm TLM on Thursday, June 19th. There will be a canopy, incense, and small children scattering petals before the path of Our Eucharistic Lord. The faithful are invited to kneel as He passes and then join the procession behind the Blessed Sacrament.

First Holy Communicant Children
Boys and girls, dressed in their first Holy Communion attire, to scatter flowers at the front of the procession. Flowers will be provided. If first communicants are not available, this incredible honour will be open to other small children. Here are some instructions to review with your child:
-
Pick up your basket from the table before the 7pm Mass.
-
Try to carry the basket by putting the handle over your arm, so that you do not spill the petals accidentally. Practice holding it a little and walking with it before Mass in the narthex, so that you feel confident.
-
When the procession is ready to begin, you will line up two by two at the front of the procession. The servers will help get you in place. Watch the server in front of you carefully.
-
When the procession begins, walk gracefully with your head up and eyes on your task. No talking or fooling around. No turning around to look at the many people behind you. Set a good example for others who will follow you.
-
Everyone should drop petals together from the start of the procession to the end. Use two fingers to pick 1 or 2 petals out of your basket at a time and drop them. Then pick 1 or 2 petals more. Not fistfuls.
-
If you run out of petals before the procession gets back to the Church, just walk peacefully holding your empty basket.
-
If it is windy and the wind blows away your petals or blows them out of your basket, c'est la vie. Be at peace; we can't control everything in life.
-
If you accidentally drop your basket, just quickly pick up the basket and keep moving. Don't try to pick up the petals.
-
When the procession gets back inside the church, you will walk to the front. You will arrive inside the nave before your parents because you are at the front of the procession. Watch for your parents to return to their seats. Join them there.
1 Shop Vac
Male or female to bring a shop vac and vacuum up the petals left inside the church after the Mass and procession are finished. Must be a shop vac. Regular vacuums do not pick up the petals.
Parishioners
As many as possible - who will simply join the end of the procession on Thursday, June 19 and follow Him with their whole hearts.
